All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings on this Monday morning! I trust that those of you who are Mothers had a great day yesterday! Our entire family got together at Olive Garden on Saturday for Lunch. Everyone had a great time!
Sunday May 18th, 2025 our Trinity Totw staff will be present for our annual recognition of our Teachers and Staff. Additionally in the afternoon Trinity Tots will have their closing program at 4:00PM. This is usually a packed house with parents, siblings, grandparents aunts and uncles as well as friends attending. The congregation is invited to attend.
Most of our Winter Residents have gone north for the summer and we pray that everyone near and far have a great summer.
Susan and I will be traveling this summer and so will Rev. Olckers. So you will a revolving pulpit this summer. Just because some of us will be away doesn’t mean that our offerings will be away. Susan and I make a point of either leaving our Tithes and Offering before we go away or make it up when we return. Perhaps others will do the same this summer.
One of the big events this summer that Steve and Pam Bradshaw and Susan and myself will be attending is the Florida/Georgia District Convention June 5th-7th, 2025. The FLGA District 35th Regular Convention will be held at Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista South in Orlando, FL. This convention will elect officers and discuss overtures and pass resolutions. In addition those attending will here various reports from different boards, committees, and orgainizations. Steve Bradshaw is running again for Region #5 Lay Repreentative to the Board of Directors. I am running this time for Region #5 Vice-President. I have run in the past for this office without the intent of winning because Rev. Steve Carretto was also running and he was doing a great job. This time around the office will be vacant and I would like to serve the district in this capacity. I have served the district in many other areas, but never as a Vice-President. We will see!
When we return on Sunday June 8th, which is Pentecost so please wear RED this Sunday, it will also be Confirmation Sunday. We will be confirming three young ladies Kylie Anne Pepper, Kate Lynn Pepper and Klair Robyn Pepper. It would be nice if some of you take the time and give them a card congratulating them on this milestone in their lives.
This is some information that perhaps there is some confusion about. Trinity Lutheran Church has two regular meetings each years as a Voters Assembly. One in May for the election of Officers and the second in either November or December to pass the budget for the following year. The Church Council, or The President in consultation with the Pastor can call a special meeting with two weeks notice for specific topics. For instance later this year the Church Council will call a Congregational Meeting for the express purpose of reviewing and accepting the newly revised Constitution and Bylaws so they can be sent to the District Constitution Committee for acceptance.
Well the morning is getting away from me, so I will stop here. Have a great week and make it a great week for someone else as well as we move through the week ahead.
Respectfully In Christ,
