All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,

Greeting everyone!  Susan and I returned from our cruise yesterday.  We are home until Wednesday when we leave again for the Florida/Georgia District Convention in Orlando.  We will be back Saturday evening for church on Sunday.

Sunday is Pentecost so we are asking everyone to wear RED.  Pentecost is also Confirmation Sunday for the first time in many, many years we be confirming three young ladies, who happen to be sisters,  Kylie Ann Pepper, Kate Lynn Pepper and Klaire Robyn Pepper.  I do pray that everyone will take the time to encourage these young ladies in their walk in faith with their Lord Jesus Christ.

We had a relaxing time on the MSC Seashore Cruise Ship.  It was our second time cruising with this cruise line and it is good. We have cruised on other lines and each have something different and good, it all depends on what you are looking for on a cruise.  We had some great dinner mates at dinner.  Fine people from around the state of Florida and Georgia who were all friendly and talkative.

I almost finished, I read over ¾ of the way through an eye opening, Biblically based book by Jonathan Cahn entitled “The Return of the Gods”.  This book connects all the cultic gods mentioned in the Old and New Testament throughout time with so many of the issues we are facing today.  We just read over these names without giving them much thought.  But this book attaches meaning to the names of these gods mentioned in scripture.  The book explains the dark side of these gods and what they did in the both the Old and New Testament and how they have reappeared in modern times decieving modern day people.  This is not a political book nor does it take political sides, it simply connects so many of the gods mentioned in the Old and New Testament with so many of the challenges that divide us today.  One has to read this with an open heart and mind as it touches on controversial topics which touch us all.  I would be willing to lead a discussion on this book if there are enough people interested.  It could be done throughout the week instead of Sunday mornings.
