Greetings on this Friday of Father’s Day Weekend. I want to wish all the Fathers a very happy and blessed weekend.
Rev. Olkers made it safely to South Africa on Wednesday after a 20 hour flight to his destination. Upon his arrival there was a family crisis happening there and he called me on Thursday morning asking if he could extend his stay and I said of course. Please keep Pastor and his family in your prayers throughout the coming months.
With that being said I am not exactly sure when he will be returning. So this creates some concern and creativity when it comes to worship while Susan and I are on vacation in early July. It is one thing to find an accomplished pianist able to play the hymns which we have been blessed in finding Charlene Irvin. But there is such a shortage of Pastor’s and worship leaders in our area. So this is offering an opportunity for some creativity while maintaining the integrity of our worship time. Hang in there with us through these summer months and you will be blessed.
Just when you think it could not get any worse around here with road construction, well it is about to get much more confusing and difficult. Starting later this month the intersection of Dal Hall Blvd. and 27 will be closed. This means no through traffic coming from the east or the west. This may cause some confusion getting to church on Sundays for several weeks.
If you are coming from the east side of 27 you will need to cross 27 on Interlake Blvd. Go to the light at Interlake and Mainstreet and turn right come north past Dal Hallo to Lakeview. Turn right on Lakeview and you are here. If you are coming from the south up 27 turn left at Interlake Blvd. Go to the light at Interlake and Mainstreet and turn right come north past Dal Hall to Lakeview. Turn right on Lakeview and you are here. If you are coming from the north come Heartland Blvd., turn right come in one blook to Hillcrest, turn left then come to Lakeview and turn right and come to the church.If you are coming from the west come pretty much as you normally would which ever way that is. Please do not let these detours, detour or deter your desire to worship your Lord in the weeks ahead this summer.
