All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,

Greetings on this September 8th, 2025!  It is hard to believe that 9/11 is just a few days away.  I can remember exactly where I was on that 9/11/2001 some 24 years ago.  Just like I can remember where I was when J.F.K. was shot in Dallas.  Some things are just embedded in our memory for better or for worse.  We sincerely pray that we will never live through such a disturbing event ever again in our life time or ever for the sake of generations to come.

We started a great new Bible Study this past Sunday on “The Armor of God”.  It is a in depth look at Ephesians 6:10-18.

Ephesians 6:10-18  The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

I have added for you above a full description of the whole armor of God back on each piece of a Roman soldier’s armor. I have also added above the brief study guide for lesson 2 and 3 that we will be going over this Sunday.

Tomorrow morning the Heartland Circuit Pastors will be meeting at the rear of the church from 9:00AM-Noon.

We took delivery today of two Tiebochina Trees that will be planted in the front of the church in memory of Harold Hurm.  These are beautiful trees that bloom with purple blooms and grow relatively quickly.  These trees will add some beautiful color to the front of our church.  We do need someone to plant these, so if you can or are interested please let us know.

I have attached my sermon for Sunday on Article 1 of the Augsburg Confesion Concerning God.

I trust that you will all have a great week.  Please remember 9/11.
