All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Good Afternoon! Wow we are almost at the middle of September 2026.
There are still 15 seats available on the bus trip to the Christmas Concert Believe. The cost is $40.00 per person. Call the church office at 863-465-5253 to reserve you seat today!
Recently an two individuals came into my office for a conversation. It was a wonderfully delightful give and take of information as we laughed and shared information. As we were wrapping our conversation up one of the individuals asked me with all sincerity if the church had a wish list or something that we really needed. I was taken back by that question and I had to think. Off the top of my head I could not say that we were in need of anything right at this moment. But it got me thinking.
We had members when I arrived by the names of Ruth and Bill Baird. Ruth was actually the church volunteer secretary when I arrived. Her husband, Bill an Elder and was a wise businessman. (The steeple is dedicated in his name because he felt every church needed a steeple.) Bill had a saying that has stuck in the back of my mind all these years later. He would say to me “Pastor, we need more dues paying members!” We have been tremendously blessed through the years by the faithful giving of members and friends of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lake Placid, Florida.
Through the years, because of the faithful regular giving of members, winter residents and friends such generousity has sustained the operational activities of day to day life and has kept the lights on so far. Additional gifts such as memorials or end of the year donations and or just simple unexpected generousity have enabled us to do many things of which we did not have to go to the congregation for additional funding. We have been blessed and continue to be blessed by dedicated giving of each and every one of you. My response to this is THANK YOU!
This coming Sunday in addition to participating in Holy Communion, we will have the joy of witnessing the baptism of two children. Gabriel Gray Washburn and Brayden Alexander Gregg the sons of Kristina and Brian Gregg.
I am planning to recognize and bring in new members, Communicant and Associate, on Sunday September 27th, 2026 during worship. We will be welcoming nine new members.
If you have been thinking about joining with us and have not as of now, speak to me this week and we can include you on the 27th!
Each year we welcome new members while sadly saying farewell to others as we look at the active membership records. People stop coming, move away and sadly pass away so we add and subtract every year and this year is no different.
