All Members Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings during this week of Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving should be something we do everyday as we pray and praise our Lord in daily devotional life. Thanksgiving is a day that has been set aside for us as a nation to pause our daily routine and gather with family and or friends and express our gratitude for the blessings of our lives and those individuals around us. We take so much for granted that it is difficult for some to articulate true Thankfulness. Here is a brief listing of some items you may be grateful for. . . Family; True friends; Good health; Home; Food; Shared meals; Nature’s beauty; Kindness from strangers; Memories; Laughter; Opportunities to grow spiritually and intellectually; Music; Pets; Comfort foods; Technology; Quiet moments; Good weather; Stable government; Freedom of religion; Jesus Christ.
You can add things that you are grateful as you gather around your Thanksgiving tables this year.
I apologize for not getting this out to you on Monday. Susan and I traveled to Port Charolotte to go to Sams to get supplies for Trinity Tots and the church. It is always and adventure going to Sams!
We are grateful that Rev. Olckers had successful sugery yesterday to remove his gallbladder. We pray that he has a speedy recovery as he may be released from the hospital very soon. He will be recovering at home for the next two or three weeks.
This past Sunday we began to distribute the “Steps of Faith” Advent/Lenten denial folders. They are available in the narthex and we sincerely pray that each family will participate. We kindly as that you set aside $5.00 or $10.00 a week for 20 weeks between the beginning of Advent and Easter Sunday. Please participate!!! This offering fills some gaps for us in providing opportunities for individuals.
On the December 14th, 2025 we will be recognizing and welcoming those who have indicated a desire to join with us in membership. We already baptized two of the new members last Sunday and we will welcome an additional ten new Communicant members. Hopefully everyone will be present.
The month of December is filled with many, many different opportunities of worship and fellowship here at Trinity Lutheran Church. Advent begins November 30th and our Mid-week Advent services will be Wednesdays at 4:00PM on 12/3; 12/10; 12/17. Christmas Eve will be a true candlelight service with real candles at 7:00PM 12/24 and Christmas Day will be at 10:00AM with Holy Communion.
There is still room for people want to come or host a table for the Ladies Christmas Tea December 8th, 2025 at 4:00PM. Sign up sheet outside the Church office.
We are still looking for volunteers to help Pam Bradshaw with our 50th Anniversary Committee. Please speak to me, Susan or Pam if you are willing to help with this committee. They hope to plan some events, luncheons, dinners and special guests throughout the next several months. One goal already set to enhance our presence in the community is to replace our Carrilon system that was struck by lightning! We are currently looking into pricing with different companies.
We have a short month this month to gather personal hygiene items for Manna Ministries. Please bring you items in before mid-December.
Looking ahead on January 15th, 2026 at 5:30PM President James Rockey and representatives of the FL/GA District will be with us holding a meeting here at Trinity. We will have dinner and then a presentation by district staff.
This meeting is intended for the entire Heartland Circuit. President Rockey would like to see our entire Church Council and as many people as possible from our congregation. This is an open invitation to everyone to please sign up on the bulletin board outside the church office.
