All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,

Greetings on this 4th of May 2026!  Well we did not get much rain over the weekend and our draught continues.  Remember that we are on resticted watering of you lawns and other excess usage in an attempt to save our fresh water aquifer betlow the ground.  Our Fresh water aquifer covers 100,000 square miles across Florida and parts of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and South Carolina.  That may seem like an endless supply of water but think about the millions of people depending on that water.  We need to be faithful in utilizing the resourses the God has entrusted to us and be responsible for those things you are in control of in your life.

Susan and I braved the “love bug” invasion and drove Rt. 70 to Arcadia to drop off the cards and rememberances you have offered to Pastor Olckers.  He cautiously walked out the his driveway to meet us.  He is technically supposed to rest, to stay calm, not look down, is not to lift anything more that 10 pounds.  He can see light and dark and shapes, but nothing more.  He goes back to the doctor on Thursday, but he says it will take

at least 4 months before they know how much sight he will have in the future.  It is a long term recovery. His wife Maritta, is starting a new job today doing “telapsychiatry” from home.

On Sunday morning we decided to suspend Adult Bible Study on Sunday mornings for the summer months.  We will resume in the late summer or early fall.

This coming Sunday Mother’s Day, our “tech team” are all going to be out of town at the same time.  This means that there will be only bulletins, no power point or media shout, and out service will more than likely not be live streamed.  We just do not have the people some Sundays to get everything done.  So we are going old school this coming week.

The Board of Elder’s is being restructured and organized.  Over the past several years we have lost the board do to death and people just walking away from church.  So Mrs. Wanda Lang and I have been working to restructure the Board.  Be patient with us as we move in this direction to better meet the needs of the congregation and to assist in the Pastoral ministry here at Trinity as we move toward the future.

Please remember we are trying to wrap up our “50th Anniversary Capital Drive”.  We are so close only $2,000.00 short.  We can do this.  Remember we already purchase the new Carillon the digital edition of the LSB hymnal.  We plan to give $5,000.00 to district to assist professional church workers with their costs for education.

I have attached my sermon for next Sunday, Mother’s Day.

Pray for rain and have a great week.
