All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings, everyone, on this day before Primary Elections. I read a report that very few people have actually pre-voted here in Highlands County, looking at one of the lowest voter turnouts in a long, long time. We live in a great country, where many men and women have given their lives and have served defending one of the greatest freedoms we enjoy and that is as citizens of the United States of America to vote. Don’t insult the veterans around you by NOT voting. Voting in free elections is a God-given right to every citizen. I do not care what political party you are affiliated with or if you are affiliated please vote. Granted some of the ballot are running for the priviledge of running on the fall ballot. But there are six races non-partisan races that will determine who will govern on our County Commissioners and School Board for the next 4 years and two circuit judge seats will also be determined. So this is not an insignificant election, it is pretty important. As a once elected official in this county I know that importance of every vote cast.
There is a Board of Elders meeting on Thursday at 10:00AM in the Life Center.
I am in the process of putting people together who have a desire to join with us here at Trinity. We offer Baptized membership for pre-confirmands, Communicant memberships and Associate memberships for individuals wanting to maintain their membership up north and yet want to belong here and fully participate in all areas of church life only not allowed to vote on Synodical issues when they come to the congregational level.
