All Members, Winter Residents, Family and Friends,
Greetings on this September 8th, 2026! It is hard to believe that it will be 25 years on Friday since thart tragic and horrifying 9/11. That day for many of us reminds us of the day when President Kennedy was assasinated. I knew where I was when the President was shot, (I was in first grade and my mother was in a parent teacher conference as it was report card times and I was sitting in the hallway when the other first grade teacher started pacing the hallway a well then she told my teacher what happended.) On 9/11 the Lake Placid Ministerial Association was meeting the conference room at the Lake Placid Hospital when we were informed. We immediately prayed and dispersed to our own churches. I came back here and watched things continued to unfold on TV. I wish we could remember Bible accounts as clearly as we remember such tradgedies.
I spoke with Susan Turoff this afternoon about her mom Norma following her fall. Susan said that she is doing well. She is going to see an orthopedic doctor tomorrow to see what needs to be done with her knee which is broken, but broken in place they said. So please keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery.
We were also informed that Mr. Ed Miller is home from the hospital. His family has requested that if you wish to visit him, first call the church office for contact information of his daughter to make arrangements.
We tried to start Sunday morning Bible study this past Sunday but there were only four of us. So I have made a decision that we are going to wait and pick up our studies again on Sunday October 18th for a wide variety of reasons.
Our Bible Study restart date is October 18th, 2026 at 8:30AM in the rear of the church.
There are only about 15 seats left for the Christmas Concert Bus Trip. So please let us know before we open it up to possibly other members from other churches who might want to go.
Please find my sermon on “Joy” for this Sunday attached.
Have a great remainder of your week. See you Sunday.
